Digital Cameras

What?
This week we are learning about digital cameras and how they can be a benefit to your class. Our class was asked to take ten photos within our assigned groups about a core cirriculum you would teach for your grade level. Our class was also asked to do some research on digital cameras.

So What?
I use this information that we are learning in class about digital cameras today. I can apply this information towards today when I am looking to by another camera. I also learned that the quality of the camera is not necessarily with price. You can get a really nice camera for around sixty five dollars.

This technology means a lot to me because this is how I can capture life with pictures. One can look back on pictures and remember those memories. This technology means not just a lot to me, but also to my collegues and many others. Digital cameras are how you capture memories.

Now What?
This technology will mean a lot to my future students. They will find looking at pictures while I am teaching a lot more interesting because they know that it is real life. I think pictures will get the students attention a lot easier. This will definitely make in impact on me when I am teacher because I will want to incorporate digital cameras into my own teaching.

As a teacher I can assign my students to do homework at home by taking a few pictures on the topic we are learning. They can work on groups outside of school. This will allow the students to become friends with other students that they may have not been friends with before. Also my students could use pictures to display a science project or many other things. I could also assign an assignment in class dealing with digital cameras. They could learn more about cameras and how they work by looking things up online or by watching a video on digital cameras and they will be able to learn the importance of a camera.

Cameras are really important to me in my own life and I know they will be important to my co-workers. As a team we will be able to work together and decide to incorporate photos into our teaching. I will definitely be using cameras a lot in my class. I will use them not only for my students in teaching but also to capture the memories of each year.

Video Reflection
The video we watched this week was Top Ten Things You Do Not Learn About Teaching in College. I really liked this video this week. It was so funny because it's true the things that they said about teaching. One never thinks about these things until you begin your teaching career and it's true you never learn about these things in college.
