Podcasts and Vidcasts

What?
This week in class we learned about how to use Podcasts and Vidcasts and how to incorporate them into your classroom. We were asked as a group to create either a podcast or vidcast. As a group we decided to do a podcast. On our podcast we were asked to record information in our cirriculum that would help teach a student. We decided to teach Spanish.
So What?
This information means a lot to me as a student today. I could use these tools to help me study or to record a lecture in class. This would be a great study tool to use. It would allow me to review over the lectures as many times as I would like. These tools will also be very useful to me in the future when I am a teacher. I will be able to use the Vidcast and Podcast to capture important information. This will allow the students to have this imformation handy.
It's really neat the technology that we now have able today. There are so many neat tools that I can use for my classroom that will help make it easier for the students to pay attention to and they will also be able to learn better. I think my students will really like this technology being incorporated into their classrooms.
Now What?
I will definitely be incorporating Podcasts and Vidcasts into my life today and also when I am a teacher. I didn't even know that these things existed. It shows to me how I will have to stay updated on new technology because their might be even more great tools in the future that I will be able to use in my classroom.
When I was a student none of this technology existed. I can see how much using these tools in classrooms now days will help the students learn. It will allow the students to re-listen or watch lectures if they can not remember the information. I really like these tools and I am excited to start using them.

This week we watched the video Why Let Our Students Blog. I really liked this video this week. It just proves as to why we should let our students use the internet and the benefits that come from it. Even though there are negative tools on the internet there are still many positive things that can come from the internet.
